Drama Therapy
Children grow through playful interaction.
Drama Therapy helps children participate creatively in back-and-forth social interaction and connect emotionally with other children.
In small groups, children co-create rich and exciting stories based on their own themes and characters. With the help of the drama therapist, they invent and explore a world of wonder and adventure where each child's ideas are represented.
Through their participation, children learn the intricate social dance necessary for successful social interaction: expressing ideas, listening and responding, leading and following, verbally and nonverbally.
Children who benefit from drama therapy include those who:
- Have developmental challenges that interfere with their ability to successfully interact with other children
- Have emotional or sensory difficulties that make social interaction an overwhelming experience and difficult to enjoy
- Need help with friendship skills
What we offer:
- Small group drama therapy sessions
- Individual drama therapy
- Coaching for parents who want to play with their children more effectively and enjoyably.
